Wedding Stories from the Yorkshire
A gorgeous place in the world
Nina & Simon // The Manor House Wedding
Absolutely loved this day at The Manor House in Lindley with Nina & Simon. These two were really up for the day being fun and about celebration rather than the formalities and that was to be the same for the approach to their photography. Yes, there were few portraits and a few shots with loved…
Sabine & Lewis // Falcon Manor Wedding
Falcon Manor is a favourite of mine for the fact that me and my wife took our first steps together in and around Settle. What a glorious place to get wed and Sabine and Lewis embraced the day beautifully. So chilled and relaxed there were laughs, tears and the odd funny face from Lewis. Suited…
Ellie & Dan // Sandburn Hall Wedding
On the outskirts of York I found Sandburn Hall in 1000 acres of woodland and then found the lovely bride Ellie with 1000 things going on around her while Dan, the groom, was squaring up to his phone with vids on how to do his pocket square. All wonderfully chaotic and perfect for documentary wedding…

The History of Thicket Priory
Thicket Priory, located in North Yorkshire, England, embodies a rich tapestry of history and architectural elegance. Initially established as a religious site in the 12th century, it functioned as a nunnery. The present Gothic revival structure, however, was built in 1844 by Edward Blore, a prominent architect known for his work on Buckingham Palace. The priory has undergone several transformations over the centuries, shifting from a sacred space to an exclusive, modern wedding venue, seamlessly blending old-world charm with contemporary conveniences. Situated approximately ten miles from the historic city of York, it offers an idyllic countryside setting, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Yorkshire landscape.
Over the years, Thicket Priory has hosted a variety of notable figures and events. During the 19th century, it was owned by the Barons Middleton, whose influence in local society was significant. Its conversion into a wedding venue has preserved its historical grandeur, while catering to the modern demands of bespoke nuptial celebrations. The priory’s enchanting gardens and picturesque lakes further amplify its allure, making it a sought-after destination for couples seeking a romantic and storied backdrop for their wedding day. Today, Thicket Priory continues to capture the imaginations of visitors, offering a unique connection to both history and the present.
