Are you looking for Wedding Photographer at Howsham Hall?
I’m Andy Wade, an award winning photographer, and Howsham Hall is an elegant country house in 80 acres of private parkland between York and Malton, with the River Derwent winding through the grounds. Run by the events team at Dine, the day is in expert hands, which frees me to chase every candid moment.
My approach is all about storytelling in a relaxed documentary style, focusing on the real emotions, and creative yet natural portraits. The weddings you see across Andy Wade Photography are all real days I’ve documented, so what you see here is exactly how I’d photograph yours.
Panoramic views, riverside grounds and a brilliant team. Let’s create something beautiful together at Howsham Hall.

Wedding Stories from Yorkshire
A gorgeous place in the world
Nina & Simon // The Manor House Wedding
Absolutely loved this day at The Manor House in Lindley with Nina & Simon. These two were really up for the day being fun and about celebration rather than the formalities and that was to be the same for the approach to their photography. Yes, there were few portraits and a few shots with loved…
Sabine & Lewis // Falcon Manor Wedding
Falcon Manor is a favourite of mine for the fact that me and my wife took our first steps together in and around Settle. What a glorious place to get wed and Sabine and Lewis embraced the day beautifully. So chilled and relaxed there were laughs, tears and the odd funny face from Lewis. Suited…
Ellie & Dan // Sandburn Hall Wedding
On the outskirts of York I found Sandburn Hall in 1000 acres of woodland and then found the lovely bride Ellie with 1000 things going on around her while Dan, the groom, was squaring up to his phone with vids on how to do his pocket square. All wonderfully chaotic and perfect for documentary wedding…

Inside Howsham Hall
Howsham Hall is an elegant country house in about 80 acres of private parkland between York and Malton, with panoramic views and the River Derwent winding through the grounds. It's run by the events team at Dine, so the food and service are exceptional, and the house has that perfect combination of grandeur and warmth.
The house has 12 beautiful bedrooms, each individually designed, so you and your guests can take the whole place over and make a proper occasion of it. Exclusive use means the house is yours for the duration of your stay, from welcome drinks to the farewell breakfast.
The Derwent winding past the lawns
The 80 acres of parkland run down to the Derwent, with ancient trees, open lawns and panoramic views across the valley. For portraits, the house, the river and the parkland give us an extraordinary variety of backdrops, all a short stroll apart.
The day flows with Dine's trademark polish: ceremony in the house, drinks on the terraces, portraits by the river, then dinner and dancing with food your guests will talk about for years.

The History of Howsham Hall
A Jacobean seat
Howsham Hall is a handsome early 17th-century brick house set in about 80 acres of private land on the banks of the River Derwent, in the pretty village of Howsham between York and Malton. The house was built in the Jacobean era as a private seat and retains the grace of that period: warm brick, mullioned windows and perfectly balanced proportions.
The village of Howsham is one of the prettiest in the Derwent valley, and the hall has been its centrepiece for four centuries, passing through families who each cared for it in turn.
Four centuries on the river
Under Dine's management, Howsham Hall has become one of Yorkshire's premier exclusive-use wedding venues, pairing the historic house with some of the best event catering in the North. It's a combination that wins awards and, more importantly, delighted couples.
How To Get To Howsham Hall
Howsham Hall is in the village of Howsham, between York and Malton, postcode YO60 7PB. From York, take the A64 towards Malton and follow signs towards Howsham; from the A1(M), the A64 east is the natural route.
York station, with direct trains from London, Leeds and Manchester, is about 20 minutes away by taxi, and there's ample parking at the hall.
Why book Andy Wade Photography?
You’ve found your venue, and now you want the day photographed as it actually happens, not staged around the camera. My style is natural and documentary: genuine moments, real emotion, and the laughter, tears and everything in between, documented quietly while you get on with enjoying it.
As your Howsham Hall wedding photographer, I’m committed to creating a collection that reflects the true emotion of your day, ensuring you have memories to cherish forever. Let’s tell your unique story together.
I couldn’t be more excited to join you on your wedding day at Howsham Hall, document your day, and capture all the little moments that make it truly yours.
