A gorgeous place in the world
Nina & Simon // The Manor House Wedding
Absolutely loved this day at The Manor House in Lindley with Nina & Simon. These two were really up for the day being fun and about celebration rather than the formalities and that was to be the same for the approach to their photography. Yes, there were few portraits and a few shots with loved…
Sabine & Lewis // Falcon Manor Wedding
Falcon Manor is a favourite of mine for the fact that me and my wife took our first steps together in and around Settle. What a glorious place to get wed and Sabine and Lewis embraced the day beautifully. So chilled and relaxed there were laughs, tears and the odd funny face from Lewis. Suited…
Ellie & Dan // Sandburn Hall Wedding
On the outskirts of York I found Sandburn Hall in 1000 acres of woodland and then found the lovely bride Ellie with 1000 things going on around her while Dan, the groom, was squaring up to his phone with vids on how to do his pocket square. All wonderfully chaotic and perfect for documentary wedding…

The History of Rise Hall
Rise Hall, an elegant Georgian mansion located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is a landmark steeped in rich history and charm. Constructed around 1820, the house is situated near the village of Rise, approximately 11 miles from Kingston upon Hull and 17 miles from the market town of Beverley, making it an idyllic escape steeped in serene countryside views. Over the centuries, the expansive estate served primarily as a private residence for the distinguished Bethell family, who were prominent figures in local society. The hall reflects the quintessential grandeur of the Georgian architectural style, with its symmetrical design, stately columns, and vast parklands that exemplify its historical significance.
In recent years, Rise Hall garnered attention for its remarkable transformation into a premier wedding and event venue. The property underwent comprehensive renovations starting in 2001, led by television presenter Sarah Beeny and her husband, Graham Swift. Through their efforts, the mansion was revitalised, blending timeless elegance with modern luxury. Their restoration journey was documented in the television series “Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare,” capturing the challenge and triumph of preserving this historic estate. Today, Rise Hall offers a picturesque setting for weddings and events, with its opulent interiors and impeccably maintained gardens providing a romantic backdrop, continuing to maintain its place as an iconic fixture in the Yorkshire landscape.
