Before ‘I Do’

It was just me and you

Whilst the sparkle of engagement is still fresh, there’s nothing better than celebrating with a pre-wedding shoot. Celebrate the start your journey together, by taking some time in one of your favourite places, and think about the future.

The Pre-wedding Shoot

Starting a new chapter

I love capturing the magical time between getting engaged and being married. It’s a fantastic way of getting used to the camera, and give us the opportunity to get to know one another better, so you’ll feel even more comfortable when the big day arrives.

Pre-wedding shoots can be added to any of my photography packages, and start from just £350. We spend half a day in your favourite location and create a set of photos that are really natural. Just let me know what you have in mind!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Let’s pick a place, and play.

A pre wedding shoot can be a place that you love or a new place you want to explore. You may have young children and want them to be part of it – or the dog! The are no rules, but as a guide, we will spend about half a day somewhere and just go with the flow.  It’s a story in its own right and you’ll be able to see and share them in the same gallery style that you’ll have for the big day.

We organise the day in advance of the wedding day. It is usually a mid week day when there’s not many folk around to disturb us and I’m open to suggestions for where you’d like to go. I know a few places myself, if you’re struggling! Plus, we can always shift it if the weather looks a bit dodgy unlike the wedding day itself.

Andy was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. He listened to our thoughts with professionalism and openness. He talked us through his experience and photographic style and combined that with our wishes with complete expertise. He was timely, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, totally unintrusive and an utter joy to work with. Andy captured our wedding exactly as we had hoped he would with unique and creative photographs in a documentary style that told the story of us and our entire wedding weekend beautifully. Cannot thank you enough Andy!! Perfection!!

We’re a bit nervous…

What do we do?

Once we have the place and the date to suit you we’ll have a wander and get some natural portraits as well as tell a little sub chapter of your story together; the perfect pretext to the wedding day. All you have to do is be yourselves, and enjoy the day out together!

My style of photography is very relaxed and candid; perfect for a pre-wedding shoot. 90% of the day is that way! Having a pre-wedding shoot before your day is a fantastic way to get used to the camera. So if you’re feeling a little nervous, don’t worry, because we have the opportunity to have some fun and loosen those nerves.

A pre-wedding shoot can also work perfectly for exploring some creative image making! We can have a short session to experiment with the creative side of portrait photography with some flash, some colours and a dynamic composition.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

Here are some of the frequently asked questions I get about Pre-wedding Shoots.

Unlike the wedding day the pre wedding shoot is not fixed. We highlight a few dates and then check the weather a few days out and make sure that it all looks good. We can also decide whether it is in the morning, afternoon or evening. If you would like to receive them in time to create save-the-date cards then work off of that. Pre Wedding shoots are generally – but not exclusively – done on a week day.

Up to 3 hours on average but it can last as long as you want. We can arrange the start and finish time (approximately) before we start. If you need to book time off of work then half a day is perfect.

Either you can choose or I can choose. I like it to be your choice if there is a special place or location that you both know. This gives the shoot a special significance and helps as you are in a place that is familiar to you. I have a few places that I know as well, so if you are not fussed about where I’ll have a few places that I can suggest or just take you to.

Just wear what you feel comfortable in! Just be you. The other consideration is the weather as we are, typically, outdoors. Just like a wedding day if you have your hair done and mother nature is blowing a hooley then there’s not much we can do but embrace it! If you want to climb about then we need the right footwear, too. You can bring a second pair that I can carry for you. If you bring an umbrella than make sure it’s one you are happy to have in shot. So maybe a white or transparent on with a nice design.

Your pre wedding photos receive the same special attention that your wedding photos do. You receive them in a beautiful gallery and they are lovingly edited with some in colour and some in black and white. You can download them and your gallery has lots of options to get prints, wall art and albums. The amount depends on the time we spend together but, on average, it tends to be about 100, although I shoot a LOT, LOT more!

Absolutely bring the dogs or the children! The shoot is about you and if you have dogs and kids then they are part of you so that’s all good. I have both so I know how it goes.

If you have any more questions or would like to discuss your wedding photography needs further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to capturing the love, laughter, and tears of joy on your special day!
