Pyes Mill
Wedding Photographer
Are you looking for a Wedding Photographer at Pyes Mill?
I’m Andy Wade, an award winning photographer, and Pyes Mill is a Lancaster venue I know well, having photographed two weddings beside its peaceful stretch of the Lancaster Canal. Waterside weddings have a calm all of their own, and it comes through in the photographs.
My approach is all about storytelling in a relaxed documentary style, focusing on the real emotions, and creative yet natural portraits. The weddings you see across Andy Wade Photography are all real days I’ve documented, so what you see here is exactly how I’d photograph yours.

Pyes Mill Wedding Venue
Inside the Mill
Pyes Mill is a Lancaster venue I know well, having photographed 2 weddings beside its peaceful stretch of the Lancaster Canal. The waterside setting is lovely for photographs, with the towpath, the old mill buildings and the big skies over the Lune estuary.
The venue hosts ceremonies and celebrations in its waterside spaces, with the canal providing a calm, characterful backdrop. It is one of the Lancaster area's most distinctive places to marry.
Waterside weddings near Lancaster
The Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal runs right past the venue, with the towpath, the boats and the estuary marshes beyond giving portraits a gentle, waterside beauty. Sunsets over the Lune estuary from here can be spectacular.
The day flows at canal pace: ceremony by the water, drinks on the towpath side, portraits along the canal, then dinner and dancing in the old mill's characterful spaces.

Pyes Mill Today
The venue today
Pyes Mill sits beside the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal, 4 miles south of Lancaster, with the towpath on one side and the Lune estuary marshes on the other. It is a properly peaceful spot: big skies, water on both sides, and the gentle pace of the canal going by.
The venue used to be known as The Mill at Conder Green, a name locals still use, but today it is very much Pyes Mill. Weddings here make the most of that setting, with ceremonies and celebrations in the waterside spaces and portraits along the towpath as the light drops.
Right on the water
For a waterside wedding near Lancaster, Pyes Mill is the obvious choice. The canal, the boats and the estuary beyond give the whole day a calm, unhurried feel, and that comes through in the photographs.
How To Get To Pyes Mill
Pyes Mill is on the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal at Conder Green, about 4 miles south of Lancaster, postcode LA2 0AN. From Lancaster, follow the A588 towards Glasson Dock; the venue is signposted at Conder Green.
Lancaster station, on the West Coast Main Line, is about 15 minutes away by taxi, and there's parking at the venue.
Why book Andy Wade Photography?
You’ve found your venue, and now you want the day photographed as it actually happens, not staged around the camera. My style is natural and documentary: genuine moments, real emotion, and the laughter, tears and everything in between, documented quietly while you get on with enjoying it.
As your Pyes Mill wedding photographer, I’m committed to creating a collection that reflects the true emotion of your day, ensuring you have memories to cherish forever. Let’s tell your unique story together.
I couldn’t be more excited to join you on your wedding day at Pyes Mill, document your day and capture all of the little moments that make it truly yours.

Harriet & Fred // Bashall Barn Wedding
It may have been one of the windiest days of the year, but it was also one of the best so far! Wind and rain never matter as much as the people, and this day had all the emotion and energy to match. I think we spent about twenty minutes across the whole day taking…
Sarah & Ash // Clifton Arms Wedding
“Just one shot I’m after”, said Sarah. “The windmill!”. We got that shot and the wind – and there was plenty – did its job with the veil. We had a little window on a beautifully blustery day to walk to the windmill, along the promenade and the out to sea along the jetty. As…
