Wedding Photographer
Are you looking for Wedding Photographer at Melmerby Hall Weddings?
I’m Andy Wade, an award winning photographer, and Melmerby Hall is one of the prettiest wedding venues in the Eden Valley: a rose-gold sandstone manor in a fellside village at the foot of the Pennines. Exclusive hire means the day is entirely yours, which is exactly how candid photography works best.
My approach is all about storytelling in a relaxed documentary style, focusing on the real emotions, and creative yet natural portraits. The weddings you see across Andy Wade Photography are all real days I’ve documented, so what you see here is exactly how I’d photograph yours.
A rose-gold manor all to yourselves, in the Eden Valley. Let’s create something beautiful together at Melmerby Hall.

Aleks & Caleb // Broadoaks Country Hotel
Need the perfect sunset for your day!? I can provide that, too!! With a bit of local knowledge and two very willing people we managed to catch the perfect sunset on this beautifully intimate day at the wonderful Broadoaks Country Hotel. A day that was stellar in so many ways! Just fab people and total togetherness around Tanya and Ryan in one of my fave places. With such beautiful light it was no surprise that a quick photo session at The Surprise View over Derwent Water just added to the perfect day. Weddings are all about…

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Melmerby Hall Weddings Wedding Venue
Inside Melmerby Hall
Melmerby Hall is one of the prettiest wedding venues in the Eden Valley: a rose-gold sandstone manor house in the fellside village of Melmerby, at the foot of the Pennines. It's exclusive hire, so the hall and its magnificent grounds are entirely yours for the celebration.
The hall sleeps your wedding party in historic comfort, with the medieval pele tower at its heart and a spacious newer wing for modern living. It's a house that wraps a wedding in centuries of atmosphere without ever feeling like a museum.
Rose-gold stone at golden hour
The hall sits in magnificent grounds with a walled garden, an archery lawn and a valley of ancient trees beneath the Pennine escarpment. For portraits, the walled garden and the rose-gold stone are a dream, and the fells rising behind the village give you drama on tap.
The day flows at country-house pace: ceremony in the hall or gardens, drinks on the lawns, portraits in the walled garden, then a house-party evening in rooms steeped in six centuries of history.

The History of Melmerby Hall Weddings
A pele tower of the borders
Historic Melmerby Hall was built in the 1400s as a defensive pele tower, in the era when the border country needed its houses fortified, and it has ties to Sir Lancelot in the Arthurian legends. The village of Melmerby sits at the foot of the famous Hartside Pass, and the hall has watched over it for centuries as a private seat.
The hall you see today is Grade II listed, its rose-gold sandstone glowing at golden hour, with the medieval tower joined over the centuries by the wings that made it a comfortable manor house.
Fortified in the 1400s
Now part of the Rowley Estates collection, Melmerby Hall is available for exclusive-hire weddings and stays. For couples who want genuine medieval history, total privacy and the Eden Valley at their feet, it's one of Cumbria's hidden treasures.

Why book Andy Wade Photography?
