The History of The Ashes Barn
The Ashes Barn is a renowned wedding venue situated amidst the picturesque Cheshire countryside. Its origins can be traced back to the 17th century, serving as a significant part of the region’s agricultural history for over four centuries. The venue, constructed around 1625, initially functioned as a working farm, demonstrating the architectural essence and farming practices of the era. Over the years, The Ashes Barn has undergone various transformations while maintaining its historic charm, contributing to its allure as a wedding destination.
The estate was originally owned by a prominent local family, the Broughtons, who played a substantial role in the agricultural development of Cheshire during the 17th and 18th centuries. The transformation of The Ashes into a wedding venue began in the early 21st century, preserving its rustic elegance while incorporating modern amenities to cater to contemporary events. This balance between historical preservation and modern adaptation has contributed to its status as a premier venue in the region.
Located conveniently near local towns such as Leek and Stoke-on-Trent, The Ashes Barn is both accessible and secluded, offering a serene escape for couples and guests. Its strategic position within the countryside allows guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings, making it a favoured choice for those seeking an idyllic wedding setting.
