Abbeywood Estate
Wedding Photographer
Are you looking for Wedding Photographer at Abbeywood Estate?
I’m Andy Wade, an award winning photographer, and Abbeywood Estate is one of Cheshire’s loveliest family-owned venues: 45 acres in the Delamere countryside, with 6 acres of gardens that are a destination in their own right. It’s not a hotel or a hall, it’s a home, and that gives my candid photography a warmth you can’t manufacture.
My approach is all about storytelling in a relaxed documentary style, focusing on the real emotions, and creative yet natural portraits. The weddings you see across Andy Wade Photography are all real days I’ve documented, so what you see here is exactly how I’d photograph yours.
Family-owned, garden-surrounded and completely yours. Let’s create something beautiful together at Abbeywood Estate.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Abbeywood Estate Wedding Venue
Inside Abbeywood
Abbeywood Estate is one of Cheshire's loveliest family-owned wedding venues: a 45-acre estate in the Delamere countryside with 6 acres of stunning gardens that are a destination in their own right. This isn't a hotel or a hall, it's a private family estate that opens its gates for a small number of weddings each year, and that exclusivity shapes the whole day.
Celebrations centre on the permanent marquee and stretch tents set within the gardens, with the landscape doing the decorative work. The Glasshouse and other licensed spots give you proper choices for the ceremony itself, indoors or out, and because it's exclusive use, the entire estate is yours from start to finish.
Six acres of garden rooms
The gardens are the star. Six acres of formal and informal garden rooms, winding paths, ponds, borders and woodland, all created and cared for by the family over decades. Couples can marry outdoors among it all, and for a photographer it's endless: every turn is another backdrop, and the light through the trees in the evening is something special.
The day has a lovely natural rhythm here. Drinks on the lawns, a wander through the gardens for portraits while guests explore, then food and partying in the marquee as the estate settles into the evening. It feels like the best kind of garden party, because that's exactly what it is.

The History of Abbeywood Estate
A family estate
Abbeywood is a 45-acre family estate in the heart of the Delamere countryside, a private home rather than a purpose-built venue. The family have poured decades into the estate, and it's their garden, regarded as among the finest private gardens in Cheshire, that has made Abbeywood's name. The gardens open to the public on selected days through the year, which tells you how special they are.
The gardens were created as a series of rooms, each with its own character: formal borders near the house giving way to informal planting, ponds and woodland walks as you wander further out. It's the work of a lifetime, and it gives weddings here a setting that simply can't be replicated.
A family home that grew into a venue
The estate deliberately hosts only a handful of weddings each year. That keeps every celebration personal, and it means the family are genuinely invested in each one. For couples who want a garden wedding on a grand private estate, with nobody else around, Abbeywood is one of the best options in the North West.
How To Get To Abbeywood Estate
Abbeywood Estate is on the A556 Chester Road in Delamere, Cheshire, postcode CW8 2HS. From the M6, leave at junction 19 and follow the A556 towards Chester; from the M56, junction 10 via the A49 works well. The estate is well signposted on the main road through Delamere.
Delamere station, on the Chester to Manchester line, is a short taxi ride away, and there's parking on site.
Why book Andy Wade Photography?
You’ve found your venue, and now you want the day photographed as it actually happens, not staged around the camera. My style is natural and documentary: genuine moments, real emotion, and the laughter, tears and everything in between, documented quietly while you get on with enjoying it.
As your Abbeywood Estate wedding photographer, I’m committed to creating a collection that reflects the true emotion of your day, ensuring you have memories to cherish forever. Let’s tell your unique story together.
I couldn’t be more excited to join you on your wedding day at Abbeywood Estate, document your day, and capture all the little moments that make it truly yours.
