Ginny & Lewis // The Higher Trapp

Bride and groom celebrating wedding with guests and confetti

Ginny & Lewis’s day promised to be a cracker – and so it was. From the same town of Todmorden as me and on the same page in terms of style, they were set for the most colourful, energy filled day. With a Lego theme brilliantly intertwined into the day it was always going to be about colour and the sun shone to bring that out perfectly – especially the red, yellow, blue and green of the bridesmaids dresses.

Much is made of documentary wedding photography and it is almost always associated with black and white images. Colour is just as valid and when you have the perfect brief from your couples to just capture the day in a natural way, those colourful details are perfect to pick up on; dresses, handbags, ties and Lego itself. It had it all.

Ginny and Lewis just wanted a few portraits – not too long away from everyone but enough to take time out together. That’s the way I like it and the layers in the grounds allowed for me to leave the guys alone to be themselves. The purple rhododendrons gave a fantastic frame for their photos.

Ginny and Lewis had a superb set of wedding guests – a few that I know – and were full of fun as well as a few drinks. So the celebrations were fabulous and full on. After the first dance – a surprise choreographed number from our couple – Lewis pulled of a solo tune which brought the house down and a few tears, too.
