Pippa & Harry // Storrs Hall

Pippa and Harry chose the perfect day at Storrs Hall to get married on the shores of Lake Windermere. It was set for a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the backdrop of the Lake District. It was my task to tell the story of this wonderful couple’s day all in the context of this beautiful setting.

Storrs Hall is a wonderfully intimate venue. It is perfect for my style of documentary wedding photography. Most of the day is capturing those authentic moments in and around all of the wedding guests but Pippa and Harry wanted to make the most of the lakeside location and long views along Windermere. A relaxed walk at the Temple of Heroes and a little wind did the rest.

The period architecture of Storrs Hall and its individual room styles is fantastic to explore creative wedding photography. As Pippa and Harry cut the cake I found myself right above them looking down as the cheers went up with the first cut. It was straight into the first dance with the lights creating interesting shapes on the walls as well as guest doing the same on the dancefloor.

Pippa and Harry were the perfect couple! As well as all the natural nerves they really embraced the day and their photography. Most of the day I just captured those authentic moments – many emotional moments, too – but they also wanted to explore their surroundings. With just a wander out in the grounds during the day and a few mins at sunset we’d captured the essence of the day in the Lake District.
