Rebecca & Paul // The Out Barn

Newlyweds smiling as confetti is thrown at them.

Rebecca and Paul were at The Out Barn for their big day. Rustic meets contemporary on the same patch in the heart of The Ribble Valley. A documentary style wedding photographer (that’s me!) was called to capture the day in a very relaxed but creative, colourful style. Pendle Hill was the backdrop in the distance in front of which I shot some non-posey style portraits that were important to Rebecca and Paul.

Bride and groom preparations were in The Old Dairy Cottage on site and Waddington. I zipped between the two and the chink of glasses before the wedding ceremony in The Barn itself; a fantastic oval shaped ceremony and party room in the middle of nowhere. It was filled with the wedding of two wonderful people to the cheers and smiles of the wedding congregation.

Outside of the Out Barn it was time for those relaxed portraits in the September sun as well as a few family shots. Paul’s family had come all the way from Honduras, so it was extra special to capture those before heading in for the wedding breakfast and speeches. After the heartfelt cheers and tears of family members remembered it was time for the party to begin.

The first dance was duly followed by the live band kicking in and wedding guests kicking off their shoes to the dance floor. The Out Barn has a unique look in the evening; the purple glow from the outside cutting a perfect shape into the Ribble Valley’s night sky amongst which the happy shapes just twisted the night away. All colourful and creative. What a cracking wedding this was!
