Emma & Neil // Bartle Hall

A wedding photographer at Bartle Hall knows exactly what goes on where. I knew where Emma and the bridesmaids would be as well as Neil and his groomsmen. And although I met Emma and Neil a few times before I didn’t know that a wedding day could reach such emotional heights. From pre wedding tears to the punchiest of parties, it was perfect.

So it started in the Thicket Lodge with rollers and make up that was soon smudged when the bridesmaids read their letters from Emma. The groomsmen had the same near the Coaching House so everyone was already feeling the love before Emma made her entrance to more than a tear in the contemporary and chic Country House ceremony room.

The day was so relaxed and so easy to shoot in a natural as-it-happens style. Wedding guests were just having a ball (literally a game of footy) while being entertained by the magician. That was time for Emma, Neil and I to sneak off for some non-posey portraits in the 16 acres of Bartle Hall. After a quick lassoing of Neil from Emma’s veil and it was time for the party.

And what a party it was! As a documentary wedding photographer you tell the authentic story of a couples’ day and when these guys hit the first dance and dance floor with their crowd the energy and emotion went through the Coaching Barn roof! A quick tweak of the camera’s settings and I was off on the party trip, too. Perfect!
