Kirstie & Chris
Wedding Photography at Knowsley Hall
The grand stately home setting that is Knowsley Hall is the perfect backdrop for a wedding as a documentary wedding photographer. Add a spring sunset and there’s room for some natural portraits in the stunningly manicured gardens. Kirstie and Chris wanted that perfect blend of reportage style photography with some relaxed portraits and a few choice family photos.
Ceremony in the Stucco Ballroom
Once the wonderfully, chaotic bridal preparations come to pass, the little man Teddy had been prammed around for a well needed nap, Kirstie strode into the gold leafed and beautifully romantic Stucco Ballroom to gasps of delight. It was such an elegant backdrop to an elegant bridal party. Then it was into the Walnut Room to meet their guests.
Wedding Portraits in the Grounds of Knowsley Hall
Most of my time during the wedding day is shooting as the day happens – no staging, no posing, just reportage. But a relaxed, romantic walk for twenty minutes in the beautiful grounds and gardens of Knowsley indeed that small but perfect set of personal portraits. Before long it was back to their guests, a wedding breakfast in The State Dining Room full of feasting, speeches and a few flames of magic from Jason Rea.
Cake Cutting and First Dance at Knowsley Hall
After five minutes for a few photos with mother of the bride and bridesmaids, Chris joined Kirsty for a last look at the sunset. Letting them have a little time and space works so well for natural portraits but with a creative touch we had silhouettes of happiness to finish the day. As night fell so did the knife through the cake and the party started in earnest for more love, laughter and happiness on the perfect day.
