Leanne & David
A Dalesy Wedding at Falcon Manor
I have more than one approach to my wedding photography. Whilst I love a natural, documentary style I love to explore and feed off ideas from my couples. Leanne set her heart on lots of shots in locations around Falcon Manor. We talked it through and as I’m a lover of the Yorkshire Dales, I suggested we pop out for 20 minutes to make some beautiful shots in the surrounding countryside, too. It was a deal! It was still relaxed and good fun but I’m so glad we did it.
Bridal Preparations in The Rafters
Leanne and her bridesmaid were getting ready in the Rafters Room. A beautifully big room for gorgeous bridal portraits, hanging the wedding dress and capturing the champagne as mother of the bride, Tina, poured away. The window light was perfect show the wedding dress and veil as it flowed down to the floor. David was waiting downstairs with his brothers – the best men. After a whisky, a straightening of the button hole and a couple of quick portraits outside, the two were ready. A few tears from David as Leanne entered was finished with a punch in the air after they tied the knot.
Photography at Falcon Manor and in the Dales
After the confetti it was time for the couple to celebrate and relax with their guests. I love to hang back and just capture the day as it happens with all the energy and emotion. Then we went for a romantic wander in a little lane just off to the side of Falcon Manor before going 10mins through Settle and into the beautiful landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. I’d seen the beautiful dry stone walls creating a really strong composition so I left the guys to it and shot away. Another wander back to the car – through a field – and we were able to capture some beautifully silhouettes. In only 20-30 minutes we were back at Falcon Manor and managed to get some amazing moments in the places Leanne loved and all in a pretty relaxed way.
The Speeches, the Stairs and The Party
Leanne and David were just having a great time with friends and family. The speeches were funny and heartfelt, the wedding breakfast a feast and then there was still time for a beautiful portrait on the stairs. Just before the sun fell with a last few minutes alone, Leanne and David were treated to a rainbow – it just seemed that there was an abundance of beautiful photos to be had whilst still being in the flow of the day. All the photos Leanne wanted she had. We finished with a shot under the fully lampshades at night before the party went on it to the night.
