Katie & Craig
A Winter Wedding at Eaves Hall
Eaves Hall is a Georgian Mansion set in seven acres of amazingly beautiful grounds. Add a beautiful couple like Katie and Craig and the scene was perfect for a natural, documentary style photographer to tell the story of their day.
Wedding Photography at Eaves Hall
I know Eaves Hall very well but no matter the venue I like to get to know my bride and groom before the wedding day, too. After a few conversations Katie & Craig’s day had been organised perfectly including a big surprise for their wedding guests at the end of the night. I always work with my couples on the approach to the photography so that we shoot all the best photos without it taking over the day. They were have dancers dressed in mirrored suits as a surprise at the reception so we wanted to make sure we didn’t miss the moment
Emotional Ceremony and Speeches
From The Lodge in the ground of Eaves Hall it was up to the Kemple Suite for the bridesmaids and Katie to get ready. The champagne and the hugs flowed as the bridesmaids were presented with gifts. With her beautiful wedding dress on it was time for the father of the bride to see his daughter for the ‘first look’. I think I shed a tear through the camera lens, too! The tears didn’t stop flowing there. Craig started as soon as he saw his wife to be walking down the aisle in the ceremony room. Outside for confetti, some gorgeous wedding portraits in the ground of Eaves Hall it was back for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The tears – many of laughter included! – didn’t stop there but a few were saved when Katie took a quiet moment to present Craig with a small photo of his nan to pin on the inside of his suit. It’s wonderful to capture moments like this. It’s why wedding photography is so important.
Dancers at the Wedding Party
Winter wedding photography is wonderfully rewarding. It takes skill with a camera and use of light but it can provide the most energetic of photos. A full wedding day is a full day whether summer or not and Katie and Craig had energy in abundance. After the relaxed portraits in the grounds they enjoyed a tunnel of sparklers with the mother of the bride, the bridesmaids and all of their wedding guests cheering them on. Once inside it was Katie and Craig who cheered as their guests got their big surprise after the cake and the first dance. Enter the mirrored dancers!
