and their wedding photography at St James at Wrightington
What a wonderful wedding this was in Wrightington. St James was the church where Sarah and Allan got wed and then it was over the road to the marquee to plenty of Pimms to start the party. Perfect for a natural, documentary approach to the photography; just catching the tears and the laughter amongst the sun and the sunflowers.
Weddings are a celebration of family and part of the day was celebrating the life of Allan’s recently departed Dad, Allan. Emotional, heartfelt tributes were made and captured. Such moments embed themselves in the day and in the memory. I am so pleased I was there to witness and capture such authentic moments amongst a family coming together with love and celebration.
Definitely the star of the show, for a while at least, was Star; Sarah’s horse. It’s not often wedding portraits on the day involve a bride charging through the fields on a horse but so it was. A quick couple of laps later the dogs looked nonplussed having seen it all before albeit a first for me. Then it was time to ride back into the tent for the party.
The wedding guests had laughed their way through the day and didn’t let up. The light was going down outside but a few discreet portraits from outside the marquee showed the happy couple inside lit up and ready for everyone to join them on the dancefloor. A very proud photographer left to the ringing sound of Proud Mary. What a wonderfully, heartfelt day it was!
