and their wedding photography at Nunsmere Hall
Nunsmere Hall is perfect for documentary wedding photography. There are so many layers, backdrops and spaces to capture people in the moment. That’s what Mel and Andy wanted after a few shots by the lake and some with family. After a beautiful wedding ceremony it was time for the bride, groom and wedding party to… party!
With eight bridesmaids, five groomsmen and a flower girl the preparations had that wonderful wedding morning chaos. With big rooms, Nunsmere hotel is perfect for bridal preparations and after the curlers, the ironing board, champers, finding Dad a shirt and a few tears everyone walked down the staircase and the aisle to a very emotional Andy.
My style is quite candid so when it comes to the wedding reception my first rule is for couples to just be with their guests, not hours of posed photos that take the bride and groom away from everyone. As Mel and Andy joined their guests the drinks went down and the decibels went up; they were the perfect party people! We had a quick portrait by the lake and a few shots with family and a very teary father of the bride.
The laughter and jokes continued after the speeches and right into the night. Fun fuelled and full of energy the double decker dropped off more party people and the dance floor was full. I love capturing that energy with a few choice techniques and it’s always good to see a wedding guest take the guitar and rock to a few tunes. What a day!
