Alisha & Lee
Wedding Photography at Crow Wood
After a dip in the pool to make it wasn’t all a dream our groom Lee was fresh, ready and had the ring that would go on Alisha’s finger. Alisha was at home with bridesmaids and mum before everyone heard off to St James’ Church. I love to document both sides of the wedding preparations – something the other halves never see until after the big day.
From Bridal Prep to Beautiful Grounds
Once the wedding rings were on and the confetti thrown it was over to the amazing Crow Wood. With the perfect space that allows wedding guests to mingle and flow it was outside to capture the action in a natural, unobtrusive way. The guests were full of cheer and the drinks flowed as Alisha, Lee and I nipped off for a twenty minute walk around the beautiful Crow Wood grounds. It was perfect for some really relaxed, documentary style portraits; just allowing the bride and groom to be themselves in front of the camera.
Wedding Breakfast and Speeches at Crow Wood
I love a lively crowd and this wedding party was just having a ball with fake jeers and cheers at the speeches followed by a feast and more celebrations outside. A few impromptu groups photos outside later it was back to cut the wedding cake before the first dance and more partying into the evening as the sun set on the dance floor. What beautiful light I had to create some especially atmospheric shots.
Sunset Wedding Photography
Before the sun finally dropped over the horizon I asked Alisha and Lee for a final five minutes with the camera. I love natural, documentary photography but sometimes you need to make the most of a moment for your couples. Just asking them if they wanted to catch the sunset meant they shared a special few moments on the end of a very, very special day.
