The Lake District is not only a place where I photograph weddings, it is a place where I spend a lot of family time. Time on the fells with my wife, two children and dogs is a big part of my life. So to marry (forgive the pun) my passion for the camera and weddings with a walk up Bleabury Fell is the perfect cocktail for creativity.

Wedding Photography and The Landscape

Most of us who love The Lakes, love the fells and the landscape around it’s beautiful wedding venues. I started out as a landscape photographer (many years ago) so when it comes to portraits of brides and grooms on their day in The Lakes, I love to show their day within the context of the landscape. So not only do they have photos that capture the story of the day in a genuine way, I can add in a sprinkle of special, creative shots that will connect them with this beautiful place.

Photography at Lake District Wedding Venues

With their beautiful blue grey Lakeland stone and grand architecture there are some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the country to be found in The Lake District. For the main part my photography focuses on the natural story of the day with largely unposed moments as they happen. But most of my couples love to have some natural wedding portraits together and that’s where my knowledge of The Lakes and appreciation of landscape photography can provide some extra special photos.
